November 19th & 20th - Wilmington North Carolina
I was in Wilmington for a conference, but had some free time to do a bit of sightseeing.
Battleship North Carolina.
Given my love of large mechanical things I started with a battleship. This is the view when boarding the ship
View from the bow with 6, 16 inch guns pointed overhead and the waterfront of Wilmington in the background.
View of the bow from the bridge
Carolina Beach
Right before sunset on a cool, but sunny day
I enjoyed watching the pelicans cruise back and forth over the waves.
This is the best picture I was able to get of one.
Fort Fisher
Fort Fisher defended the last open Confederate harbor at Wilmington
More pelicans flying over the Confederate Memorial at the fort. Conferate Memorials are common sight in North Carolina
Wilmington
Bellamy Mansion
It is a museum a but I did not a have chance to go inside
Church I came across while taking a sunrise walk
A old home which is now a private club
Latimer House Musuem
Another small museum I came a while on a lunch time stroll
A random sight while walking near downtown
