I did not enjoy our time in Florence, mainly because it was insanely crowded with tourists, and was extremely expensive.

Pisa
We spent one evening in Pisa to escape the throngs in Florence. Alot of people do day trips to Pisa, but most had left by the time we arrived. Made for a pleasant and peaceful evening

After of week of urban living it felt good to walk in the grass barefoot.
Bologna
On our way to Venice we stopped off for a couple hours in Bologna. I have come to very much enjoy these 'off the beaten path' type places.
