June 1998 - Amsterdam, Cologne, Brussels, Paris & London
This was my first trip to Europe, Debbie took a group of students and I tagged along. She had to twist my arm to go - I just was not very interested but it turned out I loved it. Additionally I discovered my strong love of art - particularly the Dutch Master on this trip.
Amsterdam
We spent a couple days in Amsterdam. It was pretty shocking for a small town boy from Oklahoma.
We landed at Schiphol - just out side Amsterdam.
We stayed a bit outside of the city - this is the train station. The number of bikes was amazing.
Typical canal scene.
Royal Palace - Which was built as the City Hall
Westerkerk - or the Western Church
Cologne
Spent an afternoon in Cologne.
The Dom (Cathedral) - which is one of the most amazing sights I have seen.
View of the Rhine from the top of the Dom.
City Hall.
Brussels
Spent a couple hours in Brussels.
Atomium - which is a scaled up Iron Crystal built for the 58 Worlds Fair.
Grote Market.

Paris

Versailles
I was really looking forward to seeing Versailles, but it was somewhat disappointing to me. Likely because I had such high expectations after all I have read of it.
Dover
We then took the ferry to England.
Canterbury
We stopped for a couple hours to tour the Canterbury Cathedral.
London
