June 2014 - Air Force Museum Dayton Ohio
For an aviation junkie like myself there may be no better place on earth than the Air Force Museum . It is absolutely massive, I spent the entire day there which basically entailed making one pass through with little time study any one item. I would love to spend a long weekend there some day.

Several World War I aircraft - to be honest I have very little knowledge of this era of aviation.

Fokker D VII.

B-10 - the first "modern bomber"

B-18 Bolo - this was the main American bomber at the start of WWII.

B-17G Flying Fortress

B-24D Liberator

P-40E Warhawk

Italian MC200 fighter

German ME 109G

German JU 88D bomber

German FW 190

Japanese A6M2 Zero

B-29 Superfortess - This plane dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasiki

F-82 Twin Mustang - which is essentially two P-51 Mustangs fused together to produce a longer range plane

B-36 Peacemaker - Massive bomber with six piston engines and four jets

Iconic Korean War opponents - F-86 with MiG 15 in background. This particular MiG was used by a North Korean pilot to defect during the war.

T-6D Mosquito - Which was a WWII trainer configured for forward air control during the Korean War. My father flew 100 combat missions in a planes just like this.
